Garden Passport · QR-coded plant tags

Every plant in your garden,
a scan away.

Weatherproof QR tags fixed next to each plant in your garden. Scan with any phone to see care notes, pruning windows, seasonal jobs and your CGM planting history, no app required.

What it is

A passport for every plant in your garden.

Small weatherproof tags, each printed with a QR code linked to that specific plant's profile in our 130-plant library. Fixed discreetly next to the plant, at the base, on a stake, or tied to a branch.

CGM lavender QR plaque examples with plant care information

A weatherproof CGM plant tag, made to stay useful in the garden.

Each tag is a weatherproof QR plaque with a discreet finish, fixed next to the plant so its care record remains easy to find.

How a scan works

Phone camera → plant profile, in under two seconds.

Scan the QR code with any phone camera, no app needed. The tag opens that plant's profile directly: care notes, pruning windows, what's in flower this month, what to watch for, and the plant's full history in your garden.

If you are a CGM maintenance client, the page also shows when the plant was last pruned, fed, or mulched by us, and when the next visit is due.

Useful for you. Useful for whoever looks after the garden when you are away. Useful for the next owner if you ever move.

What you get

Every tag links to a living plant profile.

Care notes

Light, water, soil, feeding and pruning, all tailored to your garden's conditions, not generic.

Seasonal calendar

What this plant needs this month. What to watch for. When the next pruning window opens.

Planting history

Date planted, where in the garden, who by, and any CGM work done on it since.

Companion plants

What works well beside it, what to avoid, and what to use as a replacement if it fails.

Questions

Frequently asked.

Do the tags weatherproof?

Yes. Anodised aluminium, laser-engraved. We have test tags still readable after five Chilterns winters. The QR code is engraved, not printed, so it cannot fade.

Do I need an app to scan them?

No. The native camera app on any iPhone (iOS 11+) or Android (Android 9+) scans them directly. Older phones may need a free QR scanner app.

What happens if I cancel the subscription?

The tags remain live forever. You lose the per-visit update (we stop adding new pruning notes etc.) but the plant profiles stay accessible. Re-subscribe any time.

What if I sell the house?

The tags stay with the garden. The new owners get a working plant library on day one, a real selling point for a garden-heavy property. We can transfer ownership to them at no cost.

Can I tag plants myself?

Yes, see the Order QR tags option above. We can also identify plants from photos if you are not sure what you have. The QR codes are linked to your garden's URL, so anyone scanning sees your specific plant, not just the generic plant profile.
