What We Pressure Wash

Winter leaves paths and patios green with algae, slippery and uninviting. Pressure washing transforms them. The difference is dramatic and the results last for months.

  • Block paving and concrete driveways
  • Stone, concrete and brick patios
  • Timber decking (with care to avoid damage)
  • Garden walls and brickwork
  • Paving slabs and stepping stones
  • Fence panels before treatment
  • Outdoor steps and edging
The Process
  1. Assessment: we check the surface material and condition to confirm pressure washing will not damage it
  2. Pre-treatment: for heavy algae or oil stains we apply a chemical cleaner first
  3. Washing: professional petrol pressure washer at the right pressure for the surface
  4. Re-sanding: for block paving, we re-sand the joints with kiln-dried sand
  5. Sealing (optional): we can apply a sealant to keep the surface cleaner for longer
  6. Cleanup: all waste water and debris collected and removed
Surface Compatibility

Not all surfaces can be pressure washed safely. We always check first:

  • Block paving and concrete: ideal, no problems
  • Indian sandstone and limestone: fine on a low pressure setting
  • Tarmac: can be damaged, low pressure only
  • Timber decking: low pressure and careful technique to avoid raising the grain
  • Render and painted walls: can be damaged, generally we hand clean
  • Old or fragile brickwork: hand clean only
Re-sanding Block Paving

Pressure washing removes the sand from between block paving joints. The joints need re-sanding with kiln-dried sand to keep the blocks stable and prevent weed growth. We always include re-sanding in our block paving quotes.

Sealing

A sealant applied after cleaning keeps the surface cleaner for longer and suppresses weed growth. We can apply a range of sealants including acrylic, polyurethane and joint stabilising sealers. Sealing adds 5 to 10 pounds per square metre to the cost.

Why Hire a Professional

Hiring a professional pressure washer is more expensive than hiring one from a tool hire shop, but the results are noticeably better. We have more powerful equipment, we know which pressure to use on which surface, we collect the waste water rather than spreading it around the garden, and we have the right PPE.

Get a Quote

The quickest way to get a price is to send us a few photos of your garden via WhatsApp or email, along with your postcode and a brief description of what you need. We will review the photos and get back to you with a quote or arrange a free site visit if needed.
